Relaxed Cinema in Godalming (RCiG)

The Film Society, with the help of Godalming Town Council, Waverley Borough Council, CareUK and Vantage Publishing, has established Relaxed Cinema in Godalming (RCiG) to show films in the Wilfrid Noyce Centre.

The purpose of RCiG is to enable those with mental health conditions such as Dementia or Autism, and other film lovers with physical conditions that prevent them from accessing cinema in the local multiplex, to see films on a large screen in an environment that suits them.

The screenings are run entirely by volunteers and free to enter. Those that attend often make voluntary donations to help cover the costs. We use the main hall of the Wilfrid Noyce Centre in Godalming.

The poster below shows the schedule of films for the second half of 2022.

Past screenings have been well attended and proved popular with the audiences. Future screenings, approximately every two months, bring an opportunity for local businesses to demonstrate their care for the local community with grants to help cover our costs. If you are interested in this please contact the film society.
