The Film Society has joined up with Godalming Town Council and Godalming Dementia Action Alliance to establish Relaxed Cinema in Godalming (RCiG).
The purpose of RCiG is to enable those with mental health conditions such as Dementia or Autism, and film lovers with physical conditions that prevent them from accessing cinema in the local multiplex, to see films on a large screen in an environment that suits them.
The screenings are run entirely by volunteers and free to enter and those that attend make voluntary donations to help cover the costs. We normally use the Wilfrid Noyce Centre in Godalming but sometimes also the Borough Hall.
The poster below shows the schedule of films for 2020, although sadly the screening in May of “Mamma Mia” has had to be cancelled because of COVID 19 restrictions (and further cancellations are likely). These screenings have been kindly supported by Waverley Borough Council.
